Op 26 januari gaven het Genootschap Onze Taal en de Nederlandse Taalunie gezamenlijk een nieuwjaarsreceptie. Tijdens deze feestelijke bijeenkomst werd Nicoline van der Sijs benoemd tot Officier in de Orde van Oranje Nassau. De bijbehorende versierselen werden haar opgespeld door staatssecretaris Halbe Zijlstra (OCW).
